Brest activist Palina Sharenda-Panasyuk to stand trial today
Palina Sharenda-Panasyuk detained near the Kolkhoz Market at about 1 p.m. on Saturday was released and met her 2-year-old son yesterday.
Her husband’s parents have informed Euroradio about it. Petitions sent by relatives and Brest human rights activists helped organize the temporary release.
Palina Sharenda-Panasyuk was detained for pasting posters in support of political prisoners and hoisting the national Belarusian flag. She is also accused of resistance to the police.
The civil activist’s trial will begin at half past nine.
