German government demands to stop repressions in Belarus
Berlin has condemned the Belarusian court’s decision to punish opposition activist Vasil Parfyankou for taking part in post-election protest actions against Alyaksandr Lukashenka.
"The German government demands to stop repressions and prosecution of opposition members immediately and to release all political prisoners”, - claimed German Federal Government Commissioner for Human Rights Policy Markus Löning, reports Radio Liberty.
"The mentioned sentence confirms that the European Union did the right thing when it imposed sanctions on Belarus this month”, - added Löning.
