Minsk city court to consider claim against sentence for Square
Iryna Pankavets, who was sentenced to administrative detention for participation in the Square action, is trying to prove that the sentence was illegal.
Minsk city court will consider the claim of Iryna Pankavets, who was sentenced to administrative detention for participation in the protest action on December 19, on February 11.
"My constitutional rights were violated. I have a right to participate in demonstrations, so I was arrested illegally. I did nothing which could be considered as violation of the law and I threatened nobody's security", - Iryna Pankavets has said.
The inhabitant of Barysau district Iryna Pankavets was fired from work after she had served the sentence in the detention center at Skaryna Street in Minsk, and no one has hired her since then.
Iryna Pankavets supposes that if the city court abolishes the decision of the district court, she will be able to find a new job, Radio Liberty informs.
