Poland's President: "Situation in Belarus should ripe for changes"

Bronisław Komorowski has said that politics should be flexible in an interview to the First program of Polish Radio. He has declared his confidence that Belarus will sooner or later "turn to the way of pro-democratic changes". According to him, the situation in Belarus should ripe for the changes. The President is convinced that Poland renders the most support to the democratic movements in Belarus than any other EU country. To his opinion, the key argument is that the Polish community amounts to several thousand hundred in this country. Komorowski thinks that doing nothing in such conditions is a very bad answer, IA REGNUM informs.

Let us remind you, that the leader of the biggest opposition party "Prawo i Sprawiedliwość" Jarosław Kaczyński wrote in his article, published on February 1 in the newspaper Rzeczpospolita, that Poland's Eastern policy seriously failed. According to the politician, Poland did not understand the real situation in Belarus and , like the EU, did not support Aliaksandr Milinkevich in order not to tease Russia. According to Jarosław Kaczyński, it led to the situation when the MFA's of Poland and Germany supported a knowingly weak candidate. Jarosław Kaczyński is convinced that Russia outplayed Poland and the whole European Union by squeezing Milinkevich out of the election. To his opinion, EU's visa sanctions is not an effective way to influence Minsk.
