Representatives of Sannikau and Nyaklyaeu fail to get to All-Belarusian Congress
The representatives of the presidential candidates Uladzimir Nyaklyaeu and Andrej Sannikau have addressed to the Central Election Commission. They demand to provide each candidate with one more hour of air time on TV within the next two weeks. Nyaklyaeu's representative Tatsiana Protska has taken this petition to the CEC.
After that, the supporters of both candidates headed for the Palace of Republic, where the All-Belarusian Congress is taking place. However, the policemen stopped them near the GUM store. The participants of the action decided to leave in order not to provoke the police.
A representative of Uladzimir Nyaklyaeu's election HQ Mikhail Pashkevich has told Euroradio about the aims of the action:
Pashkevich: "There are two weeks left before the election, and yesterday one person held a speech at the All-Belarusian Congress at about 3 o'clock. He poured the dirt onto all of us, especially our leaders. We will once again repeat our demands to Yarmoshyna, signed by two candidates - Uladzimir Nyaklyaeu and Andrej Sannikau. We demand more TV-speeches. That's all".
