Russia threatens Belarus with doubling the gas price - Lukashenka

"Gazprom" threatens Belarus with doubling the gas price during the year. Alyaksandr Lukashenka claimed it in an interview with Russia Today TV Channel and an information agency “RIA Novosti”.
The Belarusian President reminded that Russia had increased the price for gas and introduced the export duty on oil supplies last year which caused problems to the Belarusian economy. According to him, about three billion dollars had to be taken from the economy to pay for gas.

Lukashenka noted that Russia was not treating Belarus as a partner in the Union State should be treated. The Belarusian President stressed that the actions of the Russian government were forcing our country to look for other markets.

According to Lukashenka, the export of products to Russia was 85% several years ago and now it is less than half. At the same time, the export to the European Union is increasing.
