Russian company intends to get space hotel off ground in 2016
Russian company "Orbital Technologies" together with RKK "Energia" has an intention to get a space hotel off the ground in 2016, reports "Ejednevnik".
The idea is at the stage of project works at the moment. The first module of the future hotel of about 20 cubic meters of capacity is planned to be constructed in 2012-2013. It is intended to get it off the ground in the end of 2015 - beginning of 2016.
Tourists will be able to get to the orbital station in spaceships "Soyuz", while food and cargos will be transported by cargo spaceships "Progress". 7 people will be able to live in the 4-roomed hotel at a time, according to the plan.
Apart from tourism, it is planned to conduct different researches on board of the space hotel.
