Ryhor Kastusyou invites everyone to “Memory Picket” near KGB
A potential presidential contender representing the BPF Party – Ryhor Kastusyou – has urged to conduct “a Memory Picket” on October 29. "The Memory Picket” will be dedicated to the tragic anniversary of the mass shooting of the national elite in Minsk PCIA prison on the night of October 30, 1937.
The action will begin on October 29 at 8 p.m. Kastysyou has advised that members of his initiative group should create a chain along Independence Avenue opposite the KGB headquarters and lit mourning candles.
As it is known, several dozen Belarusian intellectuals were eliminated in the current KGB prison on the night of October 30, 1937. Writers Ales Dudar, Todar Klyashtorny, Mihas Zaretski, Alyaksandr Charnushevich, Mihas Charot and men of science, culture and art were among the killed. The night was the apogee of elimination of the Belarusian national intelligentsia.
