Sannikau: Lukashenka has no right to run for President

Andrej Sannikau stated at the meeting with journalists on December 8 that Aliaksandr Lukashenka had no right to run for President, reports BelaPAN. "He has broken all the possible laws. Even if we take into account what he has done right now - he hasn't submitted the application himself, he uses our money, the money of the people, for his advertising campaign [the All-Belarusian Congress] - this can be considered as a ground to deprive a candidate from registration in a normal country," - said Sannikau.

According to him, the fact that Lidzia Yarmoshyna still heads the Central Election Commission despite the international sanctions against her is a "sneer at people". The candidate reminded that she had told she was a member of Lykashenka's team before the election.

He added that even the OSCE was forced to make a statement there were no equal conditions for campaigning for all the presidential candidates.
