The leader of the "European Belarus" Andrej Sannikau has filed the documents for registration of nomination group on September 24. The group includes 1831 people. According to the politician, he was surprised with such willingness of people to join his nomination group. Sannikau: "The reaction was unexpectedly strong. We'll go on collecting signatures as there is an opportunity to update the list on Monday. I think there will be more people by then. People's reaction to creation of my nomination group gives me grounds to say I am convinced we'll manage to collect 100 thousand signatures".
According to Sannikau, his main rival in the presidential electoral race is Aliaksandr Lukashenka. He is convinced it is possible to negotiate with all the others and find points of common interest, to consolidate forces. He also said the more contenders file documents for registration to the Central Elections Commission at this stage, the better.
Sannikau: "When people try to convey their problems to the people, in order to find support, I think we'll manage to consolidate in the end of it all".
Sannikau claimed in his interview to the European Radio for Belarus that he would create an individual financial fund right after registration. The money will go on his media campaign.
