Social pickets against benefits cancellation are organized throughout Belarus
Hundreds of pickets and social actions have been organized by activists and members of opposition organizations on December 16. The majority of them are unauthorized. The authorities satisfied only 2 appeals out of 800 – in Mahileu and Orsha.
Let us remind you that the actions are dated for the benefits cancellation in Belarus. They will be replaced by categorical assistance rendered to some citizens.
The officials refused all the 140 appeals sent in Minsk. They did not even allow a picket at Banhalor Square because opposition members … would be in pedestrians’ and cars’ way.
There were some original reasons for refusals like “bad weather”. However, about a hundred unauthorized pickets and distribution of leaflets and newspapers are going to be organized in Minsk.
Opposition leaders have left for regions this morning. They will take part in social actions there.
