Solidarity Day held in Zhytomir, Ukraine
An action dedicated to the Solidarity Day took place in Zhytomir (Ukraine) on November 16. The action was organized by Ihar Koktysh and his wife Iryna Tsiutsiunnik, Tatsiana and Viktar Tsishchanka, and Artsiom Dubski.
This was not the first action conducted by the Belarusians of Zhytomir in solidarity with their fellow citizens, the newspaper "Nasha Niva" reports.
Ukrainian police took interest in the Belarusian opposition activists in the beginning of November. The policemen broke into the apartment of Ihar Koktysh and Iryna Tsiutsiunnik. Tatsiana and Viktar Tsishchanka, and Artsiom Dubski were also detained in Zhytomir. Now the Ukrainian Public Prosecutor's Office is investigating whether the police's actions with regard to the Belarusians and their families have been legal.
