Sport: Zankavets to keep post of Belarus hockey team coach
The performance of Team Belarus at the recent world ice hockey championship is described as satisfatory. The decision has also been made to put coaches on payroll, because previously they worked with the national team free of charge. The Executive Committee of the Belarusian Ice Hockey Federation has recognized the performance of the national teams at the world championship in Germany as satisfactory, despite the fact that the goals were not achieved. This resolution was endorsed by 11 people, with only 5 members of the committee voting against.
The executive committee has also agreed to keep Eduard Zankavets as the national team coach. Describing his team performance, Zankavets said: "To optimists, the mark is 4 minus; to pessimists, the mark is 3 plus (on the five-mark scales)".
The members of the executive committee also agreed to sign contracts with the members of the coaching staff so that they have written obligations and incentives, but the money for that is yet to be found. Currently, coaches have contracts with their clubs only and work with the national teams free of charge.
