Swindlers and robbers can disguise as signature collectors

Criminals disguised as nomination groups members can get into the citizens' apartments during the campaign on collecting signatures for presidential contenders, informs BelaPAN. The Ministry of Internal Affairs also admits there might be such a possibility and appeals to the citizens so they be careful. Criminals often use electoral campaigns to their advantage. Criminals often disguise as social or communal workers, or participants of population census. For example, in Krychau district, a year ago, a woman came to the apartment of one of the local inhabitants and introduced herself as a representative of the district executive committee, claiming she needed to collect information for population census. After she left the man noticed 5 million roubles were missing.

Each signature collector should have a certificate issued by the Central Elections Commission and the document confirming his ID, reminds the police.
