Traditional solidarity action took place in Minsk yesterday
A monthly action of solidarity with the repressed and families of missing politicians took place in the centre of Minsk on the evening of October 16.
14 activists of the “Young Belarus” movement made up a line in October Square of Minsk near the “kilometre zero” sign at about 6.30 p.m.
They were holding portraits of two out of the four missing people well-known in Belarus – a politician Yury Zaharanka and a TV reporter Dzmitry Zavadski. The participants of the picket were also holding a portrait of an opposition activist Tatstsyana Tsishkevich.
Policemen in plain clothes were watching the actions and filming the participants. However, they did not interfere. It became known that one of the leaders of the youth democratic movement Artur Finkevich had been detained not far from the square.
Nobody was detained during the action. Finkevich was let off outside Minsk a bit later, informs BelaPAN.
