Turkcell acquires Belarus mobile communication company BEST for $600mn

Turkish company Turkcell has acquired 80 percent of the shares of Belarus's mobile communication operator BeST for $600 million.
The Turks are expected to invest over $400 million in the development of BeST's communication network, reports TUT.BY.

Turkcell is Turkey's largest mobile communication company founded in 1994. As of July 1, 2008, Turkcell cost $12.8 billion. Belarus's BeST operator has existed for two years with only 180,000 customers.
