Two men siphon off oil from trans-European pipeline in Homel region

Two men who would routinely siphon off oil from the Druzhba pipeline were arrested in the Homel region.  The Mazyr-based  criminals tapped in the pipe and pumped the "black gold" into a tanker during the night. The tap was disguised as a well. The pipeline workers detected the illegal leak, using their eclectronic monitoring system, and reported to the national security agency, KGB.

KGB agents arrested the tanker with 20 tons of oil on the way to the Vitsebsk region where it was to be sold. Investigators have not yet revealed for how long the criminals had siphoned off the oil and which economic losses they had caused to , reports ONT.
