Ukraine does not share Belarusian authorities' approach to opposition
Ukraine does not intend to take sharp measures against Belarus, as, unlike the EU countries, Kyiv has much closer economic relations with Minsk. The director of the Ukrainian MFA's informational policy department Aleh Valoshyn has said this in an interview to Deutsche Welle.
At the same time, according to him, the Ukrainian side does not share the Belarusian authorities' approach in the relations with the opposition. Ukraine cannot ignore the fact that the international organizations have considered the Belarusian election non-corresponding to the democratic standards. The MFA's representative has also noted that the level of Ukraine's presence at Lukashenka's inauguration "speaks for itself". Let us remind you, Ukraine's Ambassador Raman Biassmertny attended the ceremony, reports RIA Novosti.
