Vendors in Pinsk forced out of local market
Over 50 vending stands will have to be removed by local entrepreneurs at the Central Market Place in Pinsk, following the ispection by the regional department of the Emergencies Ministry of Belarus. ERB correspondent Hleb Paulouski reports that the kiosk were built in violation of fire-safety rules. The local fire-fighters had no right to approve of their operation.
The entrepreneurs feel desperate as they don't know where to seek help. The former director of the Central Market Place and his deputy are in pretrial detention. They are facing charges of taking bribes from the vendors to build their kiosks. The local authorities told the entrepreneurs to go to court.
