Woman gives birth without knowledge of pregnancy

A 19-year-old resident of Brest gave birth to a baby after she complained to a gynecologist about pains in her abdomen. The girl insists she didn't even know she was pregnant. The gynecologist's office is not suitable for birth deliveries, so doctor Vera Charnukha called the ambulance which took the young lady to a regional maternity ward. The woman produced a healthy baby girl.

Doctors describe the condition of the mother and the baby as satisfactory. They also insist that the girld could not but know about her pregnancy.

Police is investigating why the woman was not under medical supervision and whether she had an intention to get rid of her baby.
