Yandex may become Belarusian
The head of Yandex news service (news.yandex.ru) Tattiana Platonova told us what was necessary to be done so that a Belarusian version of this popular resource should appear.
Platonova was asked if the Ukrainian version of Yandex news was popular and whether there were any plans to create a Belarusian version of the page. Her reply was:
“It is, just like the news of Russian regions. To create a Belarusian version we need partners – those who would supply us with Belarusian news. If mass media join the project like it was in Russia and Ukraine we would eagerly do it”.
More than 5 thousand Belarusians visit Yandex every day. It is 15% of all CIS visitors. Only Ukrainians are more regular Yandex news readers, reports “Nasha Niva”.
