Young Belarus again applies for registration despite low expectations
The Maladaya Belarus (Young Belarus) youth group has filed documents with the Ministry of Justice, seeking an official registration. Young Belarus leader Artur Finkevich told Euroradio that it is nobody's secret in Belarus that it is always a political decision to register youth organizations and political parties. Finkevich: "The fact that we are submitting our documents for registration and trying to get registered is proof that we do not want to operate extrajudicially in Belarus. We do not want to violate the current laws".
According to Finkevich, Young Belarus does not hope for registration. It has filed the papers as a sign of its good will.
Nevertheless, a failure to get registered will not affect Young Belarus' further political activities. Finkevich noted, the organization regards the organizations within the Belarusian Pro-Independence Bloc -- Movement for Freedom and Popular Front party as its closest allies in Belarus' political space.
