"Young Front" urges to light candles on January 19
The international movement of the Belarusian youth - “Young Front” registered in the Czech Republic – is urging to conduct a solidarity action in memory of December 19 events on January 19. According to the statement published in the “YF” website, it is planned to light candles in Independence Square at 8 p.m. on this day.
An activist of the youth organization, Tatstsyana Shaputska, has noted in an interview with Euroradio that people are unlikely to be stopped if they come one by one. If they are not allowed to approach the House of the Government, they will be able to light candles near the Red Catholic Church, said Tatstsyana.
"The fire spots will symbolize numerous Belarusians who want changes”, - says “YF” in the statement.
