Young teachers to get wage increase in January 2009
Wages will be increased for young teachers in Belarus, beginning from January 2009, Belarus's deputy prime minister Alexander Kosinets told the official news agency Belta. The government does not rule out that the wages could be raised by almost 20 percent.
Kosinets noted the government is also considering to raise wages for teachers even from October 1, 2008. This is connected with the change of first-class wage base rates. It is planned that the base rate will be increased up to Br91,000 from Br73,000.
