Zhirinovsky: Lukashenka is not Russia's friend
Russia must halt any assistance to the authorities in Belarus, Vladimir Zhirinovsky, vice speaker of the Russian lower house of the parliament, the State Duma, is quoted by Charter'97 as saying.
"Russia should not help anyone. Neither Belarus nor Ukraine. Never. Then, we will be wealthy", the Russian lawmakers laments. "[We need] no customs unions. [We should] treat them as foreign nations. No assistance. Lukashenka is not our friend and ally. He wishes to gain as much as possible from anyone for his country and to stay ruling forever. We don't need that. We should not feed Belarus. We have already lost $50 billion there".
