10 ambassadors take part in second stage of II National Dictation

10 foreign diplomats have taken part in the second stage of the II National Dictation in the Belarusian language. It happened on March 17. Among them were the Ambassador of Great Britain Nigel Guld-Davis, Hungary – Feranz Kontra, Israel – Edward Shapiro, Lithuania – Edminas Bagdonas, Poland – Henrik Litvin, Slovakia – Marian Servatko, Ukraine – Igor Lihovoi, Sweden – Stefan Eriksson and US and Czech chargés d'affaires pro tempore Jonathan Moor and Irzhy Karas.

The diplomats were offered a text by Uladzimir Karatkevich – “Mother Tongue”. The dictation was organized as a relay race: every participant dictated and wrote one sentence.

Marian Servatko said that the action was a symbolic support of Belarusian patriots understanding the danger of losing the people’s mother tongue.

The initiator of the action, philosopher Uladzimir Padhol, noted that the idea of the unusual dictation had appeared during the meeting of Belarusian experts with EU officials in Brussels on March 3.
