105 thousand tourists visit Belarus in 2007

Over 105 thousand tourists from outside the Commonwealth of Independent States visited Belarus in 2007, a 18 percent increase against 2006.  According to the Belarusian Ministry of Statistics, Lithuania is taking the lead with 9300 of its citizens that travelled to Belarus. Germany (7800); US (5300); United Kingdom (4400. Belarus also saw an increase in the number of tourists from Belgium, Romania, Finland, Australia, Estonia, Israel and Turkey. 

500,000 Belarusians left Belarus in 2007. Traditionally, Ukraine (66 percent) topped the list of the most popular tourism destinations. Belarusians also travelled to Israel, China, Norway, Latvia, Egypt, UAE, Cyprus, Greece and Turkey, reports embassybel.ru.
