12:41 Belarus counts for €1bn from Austrian bank

The Belarus government plans to attract up to 1 billion euros in investments from the Reiffasen Zentralbank Austria.  Meeting today with Patrick-John Sayers Buttler, a member of the bank's board of directors, Belarus Prime Minister Siargej Sidorski noted that the 2005's syndicated loan from the Reiffasenbank helped the Belarusian banks work efficiently.

Over four years ago, the Austrian bank bought a packet of shares of the Belarus's major banker, PriorBank. The parties also discussed the issues associated with the futher cooperation and future projects.

Belarus plans to use the potential of Reiffasenbank and its institutions to attract direct foreign investment into Belarus from other foreign banks and funds, including the use of different instruments, reports BELTA.
