Reports suggest there is a huge stir among entrants at the Belarus State University, with up to 300 people signing up for interviews daily. At the same time, the admission commission at the State Pedagogical University has registered just 18 applications over the past two weeks.

The staff at the admission commission of the Belarus State University told the European Radio for Belarus that people started singing up more actively in the past several days. Yesterday alone, 300 applications were filed, making a total of 1300 applications as of today. The most popular courses are jurisprudence and economic law.

“There are around 670 people who signed up for the science of law”, the university said.

200 applications have been filed for the journalism course, and 150 for the customs administration course. Mostly, entrants come in person, yet it is possible to send letters as well. The admission commission said that over 100 letters arrived from both the non-Minsk and capital-based residents.

The admission commission at the Belarusian State University of Economics told the European Radio for Belarus that only 111 people got registered as of March 18.

“We don’t have departments. All of the entrants are registering for the public administration, public administration and law and public administration and economics courses”.
