14 cities in Belarus have over 100,000 residents

There are 14 cities in Belarus, with the population exceeding 100,000 residents. Minsk naturally takes the lead as the capital city with 1,814,000 people registered as of January 1, 2008, writes newspaper Zvyazda. Homel is at the second place with 484,000 residents. Mahilyou is the third with 370,000. They are followed by Vitsebsk, Hrodna and Brest with over 300,000 residents.
