2000 hectares of forest trees destroyed in Masty district
Almost 2000 hectars of forest have been destroyed in the Masty district in western Belarus. Experts warn about an environmental disaster. They maintain that the nearby agricultural complex Kulyashova could have been the cause of destruction. The sewage running from the farm kills the forest, according to a special commission from Minsk that carried out a biological expertise.
A prosecutor's office has opened a criminal case in this matter. If the farm is found guilty, it will have to pay up to Br 150,000 in fines, reports STV television channel.
