2409 drunken drivers detained in Minsk in 2007

The majority of drunken drivers – 638 - were detained by the driving inspectorate in January. Much fewer drivers were detained in March – 286. It is connected with the fact that a new Administrative Code of the Republic of Belarus was introduced on March 1, 2007. But drivers got used to the new Code in April. The number of drunken drives increased by 1.5 times. 468 were detained in April and 573 in May.

According to the agency “Minsk-Novosti”, there are about 2409 drivers punished for drunken driving since the beginning of 2007.
