454 transformer stations affected by storms in Homel region

The operation of 454 transformer stations in the Homel region was disrupted by the bad weather, Homelenergo company told the Belapan news agency. Wind gusts and icing caused breaks in the grid. A total of 454 transformers were affected on the territory of the Mazyr, Yelsk, Naroulya, Lelchytsy and Zhytkavichy districts. Power supplies were cut off to 136 settlements and 33 dairies.

According to the latest reports, 105 villages and 30 dairies have remained blacked out. 54 maintenance and emergency teams were dispatched to tackle the accident.
