75 schools across Belarus closed due to flu, virus infections
Almost 95,5 thousand flu cases were registered in 18 cities across Belarus in the period from February 9 through F4ebruary 14, a 3.2 percent increase against last week and 15.5 percent up against the same period of 2008, reports the Belapan news agency.
According to the National Hygiene, Epidemiology and Public Health Center, the flu epidemic on February 16 was announced in 13 cities, including Hrodna, Lida, Brest, Pinsk, Babruisk, Minsk, Homel, Barysau, Salihorsk, Navapolatsk, Mazyr, Rechytsa, Baranavichy and 41 districts of the country.
Classes were suspended in 75 schools located in 33 districts of the country. In 2009, 286 schools had to suspend operation due to virus infections and flu.
