Activists fined for 'street action' when installing crosses in Vilejka

A court in Vilejka has fined three local pro-democracy activists who stood trial for installing memorial crosses in the village of Krasny Berazhok. Aliaksei Siudak and Uladzimir Maliarchuk will have to pay Br1050000, while Ales Narkevich must pay Br700 thousand, reports Nasha Niva.
The activists were accused of stagin "an unauthorized rally" during the installation of memorial crosses to Rastsislau Lapitski, the hero of anti-Soviet resistance and to all the victims of the Communist repressions. The verdict was announced within a minute. Judge Yury Abramchyk did not even read out how the offence was proved, says Aliaksei Sudak.
