Actor Michael Douglas expresses solidarity with Belarusian opposition
Michael Douglas: "We must use our freedom to support those people who are deprived from such rights as the right for a free choice".
A British playwrite Tom Stoppard read out the letter of the famous Americal actor Michael Douglas at the party of solidarity with Belarus, organized by the Americal PEN-club in support of the Belarusian Free Theatre in New York. The director of the Free Theatre Mikalaj Khalezin has informed this in his blog.
"I am an American, as my father's family has come from Belarus to find new life in this country of Freedom. Now we must use this freedom to support those people who are deprived from such rights as the right for a free choice. As an actor, I am pleased to support the Belarusian Free Theatre, a flagman of peaceful protest for justice and democracy in my ancestors' county. Michael Douglas".
