Alyaksandr Lukashenka: Belarus is gaining international authority
The Belarusian leader Alyaksandr Lukashenka has congratulated Belarusians on the anniversary of October Revolution of 1917. November 7 will be a day-off in our country.
Let us remind you that Bolshevists leaded by Uliyanov-Lenin gained power in Russia 91 years ago. They managed to liquidate the internal opposition, beat off foreign intervention and override national republics aspiring to independence (including Belarus). Dozens of millions people died of the Bolshevist terror in the USSR. Communists lost their power only in 1991 and national republics gained independence from Moscow.
According to Lukashenka’s statement, the October events in Russia “opened a new page in the world history”. Now Belarus “pays tribute to the historic events and… is advancing with confidence”. The leader of the state notes that “Belarus has been gaining international authority” over the recent years and that the economy is developing in a dynamic way, the living standard is improving and the social and political stability is being established in the society, informs BelTA.
