“Amnesty International”: Zdzvіzhkou should be released!

An international human rights defending organization “Amnesty International” urges to release a Belarusian journalist Alyaksandr Zdzvizhkou. Let us remind you that the deputy editor-in-chief of the “Zhoda” newspaper allowed reprinting cartoons of Prophet Mohammed in 2006. The print-run was confiscated and Zdzvizhkou was sentenced to three years of imprisonment for “arousing racial, national and religious animosity” in January 2008.

“Amnesty International” thinks that Alyaksandr Zdzvizhkou’s actions are “a normal realization of the right of expression”.

Human rights defenders are urging inhabitants of different countries who are not indifferent about the fate of the journalist to send him letters of support to Minsk confinement cell and to send appeals to the Attorney General and the Minister of Internal Affaires, reports Radio Liberty.
