Apartment rental fees drop by 20 percent in Minsk

The stronger dollar forces landlords in Minsk to reduce rental fees. The Komsomolskaya Pravda v Belarusi newspaper reports that the housing rental fees have dropped by an average of $50-100 per month.
In December 2008, a one-bedroom flat near the metro route in Mins cost $250-300 plus utilities. Currently, the fees hover around $190-250 per month. A two-bedroom flat cost $350-380 before Christmass. Today, the cost has gone down to $300 plus utilities near the Pushkinskaya metro station.

Forecasts suggest that the fees will have dropped even more by April due to the financial crisis.
