Application for March 25 action sent to Minsk City Executive Committee

An application for a street action dedicated to another anniversary of the Belarusian People’s Republic in the capital on March 25 has been sent to Minsk City Executive Committee today, on February 14.  The executive secretary of the BPF Party Uladzimir Labkovich has informed BelaPAN about it.

The action is planned to be conducted as a meeting and a manifestation. The meeting will begin near the building of the presidium of the National Academy of Sciences at 6 p.m. The manifestation will begin in Yanka Kupala Square at 7 p.m. and one more meeting is planned to take place there from 8 to 9 p.m.

The application sent to the City Executive Committee is signed by the leader of the BPF Party Alyaksei Yanukevich, the leader of the movement “For Freedom” Alyaksandr Milinkevich, the deputy head of the United Civil Party Leu Marholin, representative of the “Tell the Truth!” campaign Andrei Dzmitryyeu, of the solidarity movement “Together” Ales Makayeu and of the steering committee for the creation of the “Belarusian Christian Democracy” Party Iryna Hubskaya.

Let us remind you that the BPF Party took a decision to ask all the parties and organizations to refuse from using their own symbols during the action and to bring only white-red-white flags there on February 12. The organizers of the action do not exclude that Minsk City Executive Committee will not allow them to walk towards Yanka Kupala Square and will send them to Bangalore Square instead. In this case, the format of the action will have to be discussed additionally.
