Armenian diaspora to build a church in Belarus

An Armenian church will be constructed in this country, Andrei Ambartsumyan, the chairman of the Armenian religious community in Belarus, said in a statement. The church will be designed in accordance with the tradition of the Armenian Apostolic Church.

Contributions are being offered, according to Ambartsumyan.

The Armenian community in Belarus was found in 1992. The Armenian religious community was registered in 2003. Ambartsumyan says that Armenians are ranked 6th among other minorities, according to the 1999 national census. There is a total of 36,000 ethnic Armenians living in Belarus.
