Artist Ales Pushkin under trial in Krupki now

The artist is accused of malicious hooliganism. His wife Yanina is convinced this is a provocation. Let us remind you, on December 8 Pushkin's neighbour Jason Lazarevich came over to his place - which is in Borb settlement, Krupki district - under the influence of alcohol. Yanina Pushkina says he tried to provoke her husband to use physical force against him. Ales Pushkin did not yield to this provocation.

However, the police arrived to Pushkin's house some time later saying they have a claim that Pushkin had allegedly beaten someone. The artist was taken to the police department and kept there for the whole night. In the morning they transported him to the court in Krupki. Pushkin refused to go there, thus he was most likely to be drawn to the court hall, says his wife.

The district police head Mikhail Satsuk refused to comment upon the reason for the artist's detention to the European Radio for Belarus.
