Authorities to set up public council on human rights

A public consultative council on human rights is being established under the Office of the Belarusian President. The authorities have also invited the Belarusian Helsinki Committee for cooperation, reports Radio Svaboda.
The charter of the organization is sill being drafted. It is expected that the council could gather for meetings bi-monthly. It is yet to be revealed what other NGOs, apart from the Belarusian Helsinki Committee, would be invited to participate in the council.
