Average price for gas in Belarus in 2008 to be 125 dollars
Belarus has started buying Russian gas for 119 dollars for one thousand cubic metres on January 1. But the price has been set only for the first quarter of the year. The “Belarusians and Market” newspaper refers to some sources in both Ministries and informs that the agreement about prices for the whole year has already been reached.
According to unofficial sources, the average price for gas in Belarus will be 125 dollars per one thousand cubic metres. At the same time, the price may be lowered as a result of further negotiations.
Moreover, according to the edition, the Belarusian government organized negotiations with representatives of the Russian government at the end of 2007 trying to set a fixed price for gas in 2009 and 2010. However, they were unsuccessful.
