"Barcelona" remains most popular football club in Europe
Agency Sport+Markt has conducted a survey among 10000 football fans in 16 European countries. According to its results, “Barcelona” is the most popular club: it has 44.2 million fans in Europe. Madrid “Real” occupies the second position (41 millions) and “Manchester United” - the third one.
According to the general amateurs’ score, English clubs from the top-20 (114.1 million fans) are ahead of Spanish clubs (93.4 millions). Italian teams of series A occupy the third position (60.9 millions).
By the way, the number of female fans is growing. For example, there are 54.2% of women among the fans of “Galatasaray”. At the same time, only half of the fans of “Milan” are females.
