BCD activist in Brest faces alleged theft charges
The police in Brest have accused Zmitser Shurkhai, a member of the committee to organize the Belarusian Christian Democracy party, of theft, Mr Shurkhai told Euroradio. Police officer Andrei Bychak called him and proposed to come for a conversation at a police station. Shukhrai allegedly took money from a drunk man lying near a local cafe on April 26. There are alleged witnesses who took noted of his car plate numbers.
Zmitser Shurkhai refused to report to the police without a summons. He explained that he did not drive his vehicle on April 26.
