BCD observer: OSCE representative is sure there are no election falsifications in Belarus

Archil Anasashvili, the head of the Georgian CEC legal department and the OSCE observer at the Belarusian presidential election, tried to convince the BCD observer from Masty Zmitser Kukhlej that there were no falsifications of elections in Belarus and that more than 50% of voters would vote for the current president Aliaksandr Lukashenka.  The OSCE observers visited Masty on December 1. They took part in the training organized for the precinct election commissions' members. The observers John Woodworth and Archil Anasashvili met with Zmitser Kukhlej before the training. Mr. Kukhlej has informed to Euroradio that the Georgian observer's position made him worry.

Kukhlej: "I had an impression that Archil Anasashvili tried to convince me that the majority of Belarusians supported the current leader of the state. He even tried to convince me that the pre-term voting results were not fabricated. When I provided him concrete proofs and examples of falsifications at the previous election in Masty, he simply switched the topic. It was clearly seen throughout the conversation that the Georgian representative had a position that Belarusian elections corresponded with the country's legislation".

Unlike the Georgian, John Woodworth from the US simply asked about the whole situation in Belarus and how the election was conducted. The American was surprised that people called the police while disseminating agitation materials in Belarus.
