Beijing Olympics tickets for opening and closing ceremonies to have identity microchips
The steering Committee of Beijing Olympics has ratcheted up surveillance and security to prevent the forging of tickets for the opening and closing ceremonies of the Olympic Games. In a move unprecedented for the Olympics, tickets will be embedded with microchips. They will contain information about the bearer of the ticket: photograph, passport details, addresses, e-mail and telephone numbers. It will not be done only to prevent forging, The Chinese authorities are afraid of terrorists or opponents of Tibet invasion trying to enter the stadium.
Tickets for the August 8 XXIX Olympics opening ceremony in Beijing will be the most expensive of the games. The tickets’ top price is 710 dollars.
