Belarus asks Gazprom to keep current gas prices in 2010

Belarus has proposed the Russian gas giant Gazprom to preserve gas prices in 2010 at the level of this year. Belarus will insist on "freezing the prices for 2010 and keeping the 2009 conditions on the price and payment formula", Belarus first vice primer Uladzimir Siamashka said in a statement. However, Siamashka admitted that he did not know "how the talks would have ended".

BELTA reminds that Belarus currently pays $115 per 1000 cubic meters of the natural gas. In 2010, the price might go up to $166-168.
