Belarus to change to 11-year secondary education system
Belarus will change to the 11-year secondary education system on September 1, 2008. It will happen according to the decree signed by Alyaksandr Lukashenka. According to the document, the school week will consist of 6 days. Five days will be dedicated to studies and Saturday will be devoted to PE, labour classes and other educational activities.
The decree preserves lyceums and grammar schools. Their functions will be denoted by the Ministry of Education according to the legislation, reports “Interfax”.
